| Verve played at Sentrum in Oslo 23/8-93. There wasn't a big audience, maybe 100 people, and most of them waiting for Smashing pumpkins. I thought it was a great gig, especially compared to the pretentious and unpoetic performance of Smashing pumpkins. I can't remember the songs they played, but they played a lot from the first album and Gravity grave and She's a superstar. Richard Ashcroft was wriggling around in a death cramp, while the band provided a complete wall of sound, light and magic. What a disappointment to see Billy Corgan on the same stage two hours later... |
