Firstly the band were faultless. Richard & co played an outstanding set. Their performance was probably the best I've ever seen from them. But... The crowd were absolute shite. Their was no vibe going on in the crowd, they all just stood their watching - like they would watch a mere street entertainer in the town centre! We could say that they only reconised the songs off of Urban Hymns, fair enough. I've been to see bands that I've only heard one song from them before. But when they played "Bitter Sweet Symphony" (the songs an absolute anthem) they didn't dance, jig, sway even so much as nod their heads to it. Then again, the saying goes that "If you don't get booed off stage in Manchester, then it's good gig..." Disapointed in the spirit that wasn't there. Anybody else feel like me, or am I alone on this one? |
