| After reading a very brief bit in a newspaper which used the words 'trance' and 'space-like', I made a point to check out Verve on the 2nd Stage at Lollapalooza. It was nearing dusk and I cannot remember which band was roaring next door on the main stage. The band was midway through their set and Richard was obviously unhappy at the lack of bodies in front of the stage. The sound was amazing, but in retrospect it was odd seeing those boys outdoors, not quite their element I guess. I was not really into other bands of their 'genre' at the time, but I was captivated by the setting sun and the calculated storm (no pun) of sounds they were creating. They played 'Already There' last and I was hooked. |
