| The Palace is a pretty cool place to see a show since the sound is pretty good (and it looks pretty cool-- with the stairs and balcony jive going on). I went alone to the gig but ran into a guy I know from college (he's the singer for a band called "Lassie Foundation"). We were about halfway from the stage on the floor of this club. Richard Ashcroft seemed to be directly influenced (imitating?) a young Mick Jagger. He sort of slithered around, all serpent-like. I remember feeling the bass grooves a lot. There were lighting effects, and maybe even some dry ice smoke. The show was Super Cool. |
