| I saw the verve in new orleans at the Howlin' Wolf in 93.
Looking at your list of shows I imagine it took place on 11-13-93 (Correct
date is: November 7, 1993). I can honestly say it was the best show I have ever been to. It was a very small unenthusiastic crowd at first. Everyone was sitting down on the floor when they came on stage and Richard seemed really annoyed by this and said "Come on we want to have a good gig. What's the matter we're only fucking English." It was a fairly short set but the sound was great. They had a white sheet in the background which they projected slides onto. I remember right before they played Already There Richard said "This is a really good one." I don't believe they played an encore. As I mentioned he seemed very pissed off. I think because of the unenthusiastic crowd. A band called Acetone opened for them. They were horrible. I really doubt it was one of their better shows but I thought it was brilliant. |
