From: Philip Kunkle
| The night was very rainy and the venue was a little oversized for the band at this stage of their popularity. Acetone opened and played with furniture and table lamps on stage. I would guess that there were (maybe) 150 people in the club for Verve. Their set was the noisiest I have ever seen them. Almost exclusively 'Storm...' material. Richard was unhappy (no surprise) about being booked in such a large place with so few people in attendance. Everything was super loud; it almost resembled a wall of sound for most songs. They finished with 'Gravity Grave' and an ear-piercing guitar feedback symphony at the close. Rich openly smoked herb onstage, which I found surprising. Very memorable. |
