Lee's Palace Toronto, Ont, CA (Oct/27/1993)
Notes: Supported by Acetone

From: Sean

Ahhh... I remember the day so well... it was October 27, 1993 and my band was playing a show opening for Eric's Trip here in Canada... I was not only looking forward to the show, but to the show I'd be attending after our slot... Verve were performing at Lee's Palace, a 350 person capacity room where I'd be experiencing A Storm in Heaven live... at the time, I hadn't heard gems like She's A Superstar or Man Called Sun so I didn't fully realize the majestic sounds that were in store for me...

After our gig (we played alright), we rushed to Lee's to make sure we didn't miss Acetone who were opening... I was in love with Acetone as soon as I heard the opening notes to 'Cindy', god it was beautiful... after their great set, all in attendance (only about 200 people I think) were feeling electric... then the stage lights dimmed, the lads came out, Richard told us "SHOW ME YOUR LIFE!", and Star Sail exploded into the club... the slide machines splashed scenes from Brian Cannon/Verve's mindframes on the homemade screens behind them... the laser projectors blew cold blue beams of light out at the audience... one of the absolutely loudest shows I've ever seen, featuring priceless songs like Star Sail, Slide Away, Already there, Man Called Sun, Gravity Grave, She's A Superstar, Make it till Monday & others...

Verve showed me that night who the best band in the world was... there was no doubt in my mind that I had seen THE band... the ONLY band that mattered... That's all I have to say right now...
